Aims

In our school effort and achievement are equally valued.

At Spring Bank Primary we endeavour to create a warm, caring and inviting atmosphere in which children feel secure and experience success. We aim to develop a sense of self-worth and high esteem amongst all of our pupils and treat all equally; in this way all pupils are encouraged to realise their full potential intellectually, emotionally, physically and spiritually, regardless of race, gender, religion or disability. We will encourage the whole school community to take an active role in fulfilling this aim.

Our aims are to:

Make school a positive and enjoyable experience, providing high standards with a broad and rich curriculum.

Develop high self – esteem amongst our pupils, celebrating the differences between themselves and teaching mutual respect and tolerance.

Create a positive learning experience, which is reinforced through a consistently applied behaviour policy.

Maintain a strong and positive relationship between school and home.

Ensure that the school has high and realistic expectations of all children where satisfactory is the least expected outcome.

To be aware of specific needs of pupils and making suitable provision for them, including the opportunity to develop individual talents.

Use and act on the experiences of the children to provide work, which is matched to their ability and which with assessments, will provide a progression of learning.

Allow the children the freedom to express themselves whilst developing a high level of self discipline

Make sure that the children leave our school ready for the challenges of secondary education.

Make sure all of the teaching will be of a high quality. It will be planned and managed so that all children will be supported and challenged.

Use literacy and numeracy as the backbone of pupils' success in learning. We will build on our strengths to serve the needs of the children.
