Admission into Reception Class Information

Children born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020 are due to start primary school in September 2024. You will need to make an application for a place at a primary school. You must have a valid email address and your application must be completed before 15 January 2024.

Spring Bank Primary School will have 30 places available for Reception children in September 2024.

If your child is due to start primary school in September 2023, you must apply for a school place between 1 November 2023 and 15 January 2024. You need to apply online. You will get an application letter, but you visit the Leeds.gov website:

You may wish to link to the council’s You Tube video about applying for a school place on your school website, or provide this to parents at open days.

Primary school places are offered on 16 April 2024 (offer day). Leeds City Council will email you with your child’s offer. They will send the email during the working day.

Alternatively you can attend our open morning on Wednesday 8th November at 9:30am and our open evening on Wednesday 15th November at 6pm.

Entry Into Years 1 to 6

Parents of older children, moving into the area, are welcome to make an appointment to visit the school and discuss admission with our school office You should use the Leeds City Council Online Application Form to apply to us.

Admissions Policy

We follow the Leeds Admission Policy for Primary Schools (https://www.leeds.gov.uk/schools-and-education/school-admissions/our-school-admissions-policies). Applications for places and appeals are dealt with by Leeds City Council (0113 2224414). Leeds City Council will handle all questions and issues which may arise; we remain neutral in the process.

Admission for Pupils with SEND

At Spring Bank Primary School, the admissions criteria do not discriminate against any students with SEND in line with the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice (2015).

We will contact a child’s previous education setting prior to admission of students in order to establish any additional needs a student might have.
