WELCOME TO YEAR 6 2024 - 2025

Year 6 will also be taught by Mrs Wilton on Tuesday mornings and Friday afternoons.

Reading Homework:

Please help your child to read every day at home.

Reading homework is set by the teacher every week after our guided reading lesson on Monday. Children need to complete the reading and comprehension questions in the reading journal provided and bring it back to school ready for the following Monday. 

Library Day:

Y6's library day is Wednesday.

TTRockstars:

It is essential that children have times tables facts at their fingertips! We have TTRockstars tournaments set each Friday to encourage this.

PE Lessons:

Year 6 have PE on Wednesday and Friday each week. Please ensure that your child comes to school in the correct PE kit on these days. Please can children who have long hair ensure it is tied back.

Acceptable PE kit:

- blue/black shorts or jogging bottoms

- white t-shirt

- running trainers

- blue/black sweatshirt or hoodie for outdoors

Offers will be sent by email on 3rd March 2025. Transition visits to high schools take place during July.

SATS week:

End of KS2 tests take place from Monday 12th May to Thursday 15th May. The PTA very kindly provide a special SAT breakfast on those days and on Friday we go to Heavenly Desserts for ice-cream!

End of year Leavers' Performance

This will take place on the last day of their primary school career - Friday 18th July at 9.15am. Please bring tissues!
